Terms of Use

Pocketwise for iOS · Effective 27 October 2026

Agreeing to these terms

By installing or using Pocketwise you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

An educational app

Pocketwise teaches how European roulette works and how its probability and house edge behave. It is not a gambling service. No money or anything of value can be staked, won, paid out or withdrawn, there are no prizes, and the app does not link to or promote any casino or betting operator. Simulated spins are illustrations only.

Who it is for

The app covers a casino game and is intended for adults aged 18 and over. Nothing in it is advice to gamble, and no lesson, simulation or "system" can overcome the house edge.

Your licence

You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Pocketwise on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial learning.

Ticks and unlocks

Ticks are earned only by answering lesson and exam questions correctly. They have no real-world value, cannot be bought, sold, transferred or exchanged for anything outside the app, and are never earned from a simulated spin. The felts, rims, markers and study aids they unlock exist only inside the app and are lost if you reset progress or delete it.

Fair use

Please do not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, redistribute or resell the app or its content, or attempt to interfere with how it works.

Ownership

The app's lessons, questions, artwork, sound effects and code belong to the developer and are protected by law. Using the app does not give you ownership of any of them.

No warranty

Pocketwise is provided "as is" and "as available". The lessons aim to be accurate but are offered without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows, and the developer is not liable for losses arising from use of the app or from any decision you make.

Privacy

The app works entirely on your device and collects no personal data. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Changes and questions

These terms may be updated; the current version is always on this page and continued use means you accept it. Pocketwise comes from Michael Pupin, who answers questions about these terms at post@brasswhistle.click.
